Hey Trump, Cruz, HC, Ole Bernie, they all say stupid things. When you talk that much, you will say stupid things. I'm waiting for it to come out when HC about 15 years ago was pondering how wonderful the country could be if the Feds could get just acquire 10% of the money in private pension plans.... for the greater good of course. With the way the country is heading toward bankruptcy, what better way to get yourself out of it than take people's wealth, after all, it's the government's money. In my mind, anyone who signed up and did their thing with the potential to lay their life on the line for the rest of us is a hero. Cooks, drivers, soldiers, etc. I don't think you necessarily know where you're going when you sign your name on the line. But to say someone's not a hero because they got captured is ludicrous. "I like people who weren't captured..." And, he had ample opportunity to say that he misspoke but he declined that opportunity.

 

Just 'cause someone serves their country doesn't make him/her a war hero.

Your question should have been, "What qualifies John McCain as a war hero?"

John McCain......shot down over 'Nam. Captured, POW. Tortured. Offered repatriation by the North Vietnamese but refused an out-of-sequence early repatriation offer.

His refusal to come back early, to wait his turn, makes him a war hero in my mind.

'Vet, If you don't think this qualifies in your mind I'd like to hear why.

Welp, Ima member of the Silent Generation but I gotta speak up....I signed up,
served in a coupla places overseas, one of 'em had lots of sand. Closest I came
to combat was the 7 Day War when the Isrealis kicked a bunch of Arab backsides.
We were on lockdown and had a bunch of ragheads outside the wall but our mission
was to listen to what was going on all over the world, which we did. Still marvel at
how badass the Isrealis were/are. So, no, I'm no hero, McCain? Yup, you bet he is!
For Trump to disparage him or so many other of the guys caught up in a screwed up
war is TREASON, in my opinion, and, talk about disqualifying someone to be CIC!!!!
May God have mercy on the U S of A if the electorate is stupid enough to put him in
office. HRC, with all her warts, is a better choice...Socialist Bernie is a better choice..
Cruz is in the same s***hole as Trump. Those of you good folks on the right should
look deep inside when you go in the booth...assuming that you do..(so sez some who

Here's the deal, imo, HRC is in, the Senate flips to the Dems, the House stays Pub but
a lot closer margin and, actually, really and truly, stuff gets done until 2018 and the
freakin' war is renewed. SCOTUS adjusts, the Pubs practice the minority blocking with
McConnell's upper lip actually moving in the Senate, Ryan moves to a major position
for POTUS in 2020, HRC is one term, E Warren gets involved and the Pubs stay irrelevant,
because they can't figure out how to be friendly with the Hispanics, African Americans and
women, especially if they keep Priebus as chairman. Just reread what I typed and am
pretty sure that some pulses quickened, even RLIMC, TDTW, 77 and THA hyperventilated.
