i'll miss his posts as they were almost always thought provoking. For those that believe in reincarnation, he was clearly a returning confederate solder's soul. He'll be back - RIP until then.
As I said elsewhere: I am also shocked and sad. Though I typically found his politics infuriating and delusional (like I probably find most of yours!), I always knew he was a good guy (like you probably are, too). Some time ago we talked about meeting for a drink if he came to New Orleans. (Assuming he could find the place -- his wrong way trip story was epic stuff.) I guess I'll have to have one for him now. Requiescat in pace, Sic 'Em.
Never met him, but I'm going to miss him around here. Didn't always agree with him but he wrote from the heart and never wavered from his position. Good dude and way too ****ing soon.
I enjoyed arguing with him as much as finding out where our viewpoints coincided. He seemed to be a very intelligent guy. Agreed, he left us way too soon. RIP.
I was just gob smacked when I read this. I find it hard to believe. RIP SicEm, prayers to your family.
Several of us have thought the same thing. But Ive been assured by some one whos word is above reproach that it is in fact true
Good Lord...this is stunning!! RIP young man...gone too soon. May God Bless your family in these trying times!
I haven't come here in a while. I came to see what SicEm had to say about Rand Paul dropping out of the race. I thought for sure this thread was about that, and it took reading 3 or 4 posts before I realized this wasn't a play on words. Crazy. RIP.
"Holy Sonnet X" Death be not proud, though some have called thee Mighty and dreadful, for, thou art not so, For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow, Die not, poore death, nor yet canst thou kill me. From rest and sleepe, which but thy pictures bee, Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow, And soonest our best men with thee doe goe, Rest of their bones, and souls deliverie. Thou art slave to Fate, Chance, kings, and desperate men, And dost with poyson, warre, and sicknesse dwell, And poppie, or charmes can make us sleepe as well, And better than thy stroake; why swell'st thou then; One short sleepe past, wee wake eternally, And death shall be no more, Death, thou shalt die. -------------John Donne I know Froston was a Deist and I think God knew his heart.
Haven't been on in awhile. Wow, that is sad, sad news. Life is fragile indeed. Seen way to many people that I thought were relatively healthy and then they're gone. Many thoughts and prayers to his family. Had a lot respect for him.
