Saturday was the 330th OU football game I have attended. It was the 257th home game in a row and marks 44 years in a row without missing a home football game.
Awesome. Just finished my 21st season as a season ticket holder. Made the TCU game - cold. But, not 1997 Texas A&M cold or 1988 Nebraska cold.
Had season tickets from 1972-1992. Before the Nebraska game people couldn't give tickets away and I was holding two with a face value of $40 apiece. When the application came the next year I didn't renew them. For the next couple of years took my two boys to the game and had them just hold up three fingers. Many games people would just give us tickets. Never paid anywhere close to face. In 1995 went to the first game and Schnellenberger had everyone excited and tickets were going for way over face. We were on the north side of the stadium and there was this line at the ticket window, that used to be there prior to renovations. Went and got in line and bought 4 season tickets. Have had the same seats ever since. A guy I worked with went to a game with us that year and during the following spring he ask what the exact location of my seats were because he was going to try to get tickets close to mine. He called me back that afternoon and said he had bought 4 tickets. I ask if he was able to get them close to mine. He replied "I got the 4 seats directly in front of yours".
Will we be seeing you in one of the time outs at the next home game? We have had season tickets when Switzer came, and I think we only missed one home game because we went to San Diego. Believe it or not, that was my husband's idea. I am the fanatic on football! My husband will be upstairs watching National Geographic, and I will be downstairs watching any sport I can find, except soccer and tennis.
