As fun as making fun of fraud Manti is... here's an argument for why Mani truly is a dum dum and not a fraud: His grandmother just died. Thus, he doesn't need to pull the "loved one just died" card to get audience and media sympathy. He's already got it. Therefore, Manti is not a fraud. He is just educated by the University of Notre Dame.
If he is gay and needed a cover, surely he could have found some local coed who could be his beard. He's a big football star and plenty of attractive women would want to just be able to hang with him.
I know my memory is not the best, but I've been around awhile, and I can't recall any sports related story that comes within a hundred miles of being as astonishingly bizarre as this deal. It's a gob-smacker for sure.
