The following true freshman recruits have not seen action this season (redshirting or injuries) according to the NCAA link in SoonerSports.com. Any scout team stars or expected impact players/surprises from this group? DBs Quentin Hayes a 6-0 DB James Haynes a 6-0 DB Julian Wilson a 6-2 DB with 10.2 100 m speed LBs Rashod Favors a 6-0/230 lb LB Aaron Franklin a 6-1/205 lb LB DL Geneo Grissom a 6-4/233 lb DE Eric Humphrey a 6-2/292 lb DT Chuka Ndulue 6-2/252 lb DE Damon Williams a 6-3/329 lb DT OL Adam Shead a 6-3/330 lb OL Tyrus Thompson a 6-4/311 lb OL Daryl Williams a 6-5/300 lb OL WR Justin McCay a 6-2 WR Sheldon McClain a 6-2 WR
I think Grissom has the best chance to be an impact player in the future. The OL on the list have a chance to compete for starting time after next season as both our tackles will be seniors next year.
I think all of them have a chance, but the three guys that keep sticking out to me are: 1. Geneo Grissom - Big motor. Will continue to get better as he's coached into the system. 2. Justin McCay - Big, physical, possession receiver. Never can have enough of those guys! 3. Julian Wilson - Fast, physical and could possibly be switched to safety. Big hitter!! Just my thoughts. ((I think Trey Metoyer will be a stud in this years class and will make an immediate impact.))
My bad, my brain ignored the NCAA 0 for him since I had seen him listed. Re-checked and saw both he and Humphrey were listed for the Mizz game. (Tyrus Thompson and S. McClain too) Blake Bell will not get much work behind next years Heisman WINNER.
You jest but that COULD happen as Bell playedWR for 2years in hs.He was only the starting qb for 1 year.I would not be at all surprised to see DrewAllen remain as #2 while Bell gets more reps with the scout team or moves to WR.
I look forward to seeing him in the Army All American game in about 30 min. I've only seen a few highlights but not live. Marquis Anderson is one to watch too.
u might wanna make a thread to remind some people about the game. I'm sure some people would wanna watch.
