# of times Switzer was blown out: Zero

# of times Stoops has been blown out: Nine

Meaningful Stat? Meaningless Stat?

That's what I was thinking. May not be apples to apples.

 

I was at the Orange bowl after the '77 season. That was one of the few blow-outs endured by a Switzer team - I don't care how you define it by score. Is your point is that Switzer was a better coach for his time than Stoops is now? I believe that is true. I don't think Switzer (even with magical rejuvenation) could coach today's players; he couldn't control the off-field problems.

 

With option attack getting beat by about 17 was more like getting blown out by 4+ TDs.

 

Alright now count the number of ranked opponents faced for each coach.. It's not even close.. Not taking up for Bob, but I have actually went through to check this.. Bob faced more in a 5 year period than Barry did in his career.
