I've got it from a good source that there are some students wanting to bring back this old yell. It's actually the official OU Yell, started back in 1895. Some of you old folks may remember it from football games a few decades ago, but I don't know that it has ever been popular during my lifetime. I kinda like it...I hope it works. Be on the lookout for it at the football games. http://soonersports.com/trads/boomer-sooner-fight-song.html
As long as they are making some noise and not sitting there like some kind of Baylor fan I don't care what they yell. The noise in the 08 tech game should be the norm, not a noteworthy event.
BRING IT BACK! Let's practice! Instead of the tradition gameday yell threads here... Hi rickety whoop-te-do! (now somebody do the next line)
Most on here would consider me an old folk (just a few would not) at 52. Been a Sooner fan since I was about 8. I don't remember that one. I ain't against it. As said above, anything to get everyone together and making noise in the stadium.
From the sound of it, it went out sometime between rumble seats and racoon coats. The sort of thing that went well when plying a flapper with bathtub gin.
Nobody's asking you to a) uncover b) hump it c) squeeze ol' army If those three aren't part of the equation, it ain't aTm whoooooooooooop! (tee do)
what is the "hi rickety" part of that? I'm actually for some other, more modern saying. Like "rah rah ree..."
Absolutely not! In fact, almost anytime I see a woman with a bob haircut and a form fitting short dress, I immediately get gin flavored moonshine and give it to her in a large martini glass. It's a bit outre, but it's my style, man.
Let's just add, "We're gonna beat the hell outta you!" to the end, and it's perfect!! Modern, true, it even rhymes!!!!
