View Full Version : Prayer request... for go8's Mother

My mom was diagnosed with what I believe I heard her say is "phase 1 (0-4 phases)" breast cancer yesterday. Needless to say it hit me like a ton of bricks. We've all pulled together and she has awesome support. My mom is a very cool mom; and by that, I mean she was a tee ball coach back in the day(good with kids), always the first person concerned when something's wrong, very charitable and an everybody's best friend kind of person.

She has surgery scheduled for Monday. The procedure is supposed to let us know more when it's done... so I figured I'd inform the good folks on my favorite site. All is well and we had the family together for dinner and a good laugh tonight, but the 'C-word' is still kind of a shocker to us all.

In and done. Stage 1 is good news (relatively speaking, of course). They've got a good shot at successful treatment. Prayers for your Mom and your entire family.

i know what it's like to get news like that. you go through your whole life knowing one day you'll hear something like that and you always say you'll be able to handle it when it comes. at age 20 i felt like i could handle it at age 33. then when you hear it at 33 you feel like you're 7 years old.

best wishes to your mom. you're a good poster and seem like a genuinely good person.

Phase = Stage I believe... Stage 1 not as bad as Stage 4, but worse than Stage 0

Prayers for your mom and your family. Good wishes for her surgery. Sounds like she has a great support staff, which is so important.

I was supposed to go get my mammogram in August and I haven't done so yet. I think I will now. Just for my own peace of mind.

MRI tomorrow... top 5 U.S. doc doing the workings. Things as good as can be expected for now. Thank you all.

Thoughts and prayers are with your mom and your family. Keep your chins up and remember to never give up hope.

Stage 1 is relatively early to "catch" cancer and they've made such great strides and advances in cancer treatment and therapies.
