Brett Somers dead at 83. (http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jZSdAp2A3-N4JGhuatQhxCylV9Cw)

Now, the immediate question that springs to my mind is... Brett Somers was still alive?

P.S... Why am I doing the Angel of Death's job for her?

did anyone see the Match Game special they did a few months back on the Game Show Network?

i think it was Brett who told the story about them taping two shows per day. one was before lunch and the other was after.

and by lunch, i mean a fifth of Gilbey's and a jar of olives.

You young kids today with your Whoopi Golderbergs and your Bruce Vilanches and your Caroline Rheas. You don't even begin to understand the magnitude of the debt those folks owe to the great ones like Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly and Richard Dawson.

You think Whoopi Goldberg invented the formula of D-list celebrities exchanging cheeky one-liners and double entendre-laden schtick in a daytime game show format? Do ya? Go back and read your history, son. Caroline Rhea couldn't hold Brett Somers polyester panstsuits.

Kids today are spoiled. That's what you are. Spoiled.

And all those Hollywood Squares people are sober.
These kids don't know how to run a daytime game show.

I believe he was referring to present day Hollywood Squares. Not old school HS.

Match Game taught me a lot as a lad. Where would I be today if not for tounge-in-cheek double-entendres?
Brett you will be missed, but enjoyed forever in rerun heaven.

Caroline Rhea is Costaki Economopoulos' girlfriend. I think the other guy is fat and has a beard! ;)

Yup for around 20 years i think; never divorced, just separated from each other and never made it official

Bruce Vilanche looked like Jerry Garcia's stunt double. I think he was a comedy writer in Hollywood; thus, he got to appear on the Squares.
