So I was driving up US 77 today just north of Marysville Kansas, almost back to the good life, listening to Working Man cranked on my stereo when a bolt of lightning struck in the opposite ditch from my car. It scared the **** out of me(figuratively speaking). I have decided I don't like being that close to lightning.

You should probably rethink your position on ethanol.

I think someone is trying to tell you something. ;)

Wouldn't that be considered a "near hit" as opposed to a "near miss?" :texan:

I had a bolt of lightening hit in my front yard one time. It literally made my hair on my head (and I have a lot of it) stand up on end and my heart skip several beats.

The most unreal feeling when it happened.

I was near a building that had lightning rods one time...

It was raining and I had just put up an umbrella as I got out of my truck.

The lightning hit the rod and traveled down the cable into the ground...

It was like a mortar ricocheting off the side of the building.

I instantly put the umbrella back in the truck thinking that rain wasn't that bad...:D
