Beat the Condoms.

It had to be said. In fact, I fear, even if we run the table, if LSU or the Condoms don't drop one, our Sooners will get "Auburned" this year.

I agree.. if the Condoms, the Drunken Cajuns and the F'in Hillbillies are all undefeated at the end of the year.. you will be playing in the Fiesta Bowl.

I have a weird feeling about the game in Lincoln this weekend.

Nebraska was lucky to get by a relatively unathletic Wake team (with Wake throwing an interception in the end zone with about 4 minutes to play).

USC's speed and talent are gonna prove to be the difference in the second half.

I hate to agree with a dirty Whorn, but I do...to a point.

The major problem with Nebraska is that it's completely impossible to predict which squad will show up. If it's the team that ran Nevada, it'll be a game. If it's the group of fumbledorfs that played last week, we're screwed.

The lack of consistency has been my only complaint of the Callahan era. I know you guys hate him, but he's got the program going in a more positive direction than it was under Solich. I don't know enough to say if it's going in the direction of a MNC, but it's not headed to the toilet anymore.

Callahan will have a solid game plan. He took quite a bit of criticism last year in the media, here in Lincoln, and on this board, for the way he played USC, but the fact of the matter is that he gave Nebraska the best chance to win and according to Pete Carroll laid out the blueprint for beating USC: control the ball, keep their offense on the sidelines, and see who blinks first.

Nebraska's chances in this game come down to Sam Keller and our receiving corps. Last year Callahan put us in the position to win but Taylor's accuracy was inconsistent and we had some guys short-arm or just plain drop passes. You can't do that against any top 5 team and expect to win.

Like Texas getting lucky with Arkansas State? In any event Wake was a classic trap game, and I don't know why anyone is surprised that it was life and death for Nebraska to win.

Wake shouldn't have been a trap game.. they won the ACC and played in a BCS bowl last year.

eh.. Going to Wake is kind of a strange trip, esp. for Nebraska. I thought the Huskers were just uninspired. No big deal. Got the W against the defending ACC champs on the road. The defense, which was the big ?, has looked pretty good to date.

I wasn't real impressed with 'SC, but it was aginst Idaho. They use too many 'backs for my liking. And their receivers are inconsistent. I don't think Booty's on the same page with them yet. That's not good heading into Lincoln.

NU was going on the road the week before the first Number 1 team to visit Memorial Stadium in 29 years to play in Wake's little cracker box stadium. USC has been the focus of everyone in Nebraska for 8 months, not Wake. Especially since most people view winning the a poor ACC as a fluke. Plus we killed Wake two years ago without an offense. It's not a game that players get up for.

They're too busy trying to figure out a nickname for your quarterback and trying to decide if this year's OU team is the best team in the history of God....

There's so much kool-aide being consumed on the football board it makes your keyboard turn red just looking at it.

want the oh so wonderful fans to go home very sadIt would be better for OU if someone other than nebbish beat the suc.

I would think that your loss to NU in the Conference Championship Game will look better with NU's win over USC. It will help your case for a BCS bid.

You're smoking crack. Nothing better for OU could happen than for us to beat USC. OU needs the Condoms to break for the benefit of their BCS rankings, sooner rather than later, and preferable by someone in their conference that they could end up playing in the CCG.

Better for us if suc loses to non-nebbish folks. Don't take it personally.

i don't put a lot of credence in the NU running game being dominant because Lucky had a good day against Nevada. if NU has to go one-dimensional (USC stops the run, as did Wake), they are in trouble. Keller is talented but has a dime-store head.

USC wins, but NU plays well. 30-22 Trojans.

the best thing that can happen for OU, should OU run the table and make the BCS game, would be for LSU to lose so we don't have to play LSU in New Orleans (again).

Yeah, those 10-win seasons really were a drag, I'm sure. I bet you guys were excited when Callahan showed up and lowered your expectations enough that you're excited about getting to 9.

That's a high likelihood.

Doesn't change the fact that OU needs Nebraska to up-end USC. The worst thing that could happen for OU is for USC to kick the crap out of us. Given the cream puffish perception of the Big 12 that teams like OSU are affirming, OU needs the strength of schedule boost, even if it's via a degree of separation.
