How much work goes into being apart of a University band...

Which band? The Pride rehearses from 4:00pm to 6:00pm Mon, Wed, Thurs, and Friday. then Saturday you're there pretty much 8am to the end of the game. Plus trips. The Wind Symphony rehearses MWF, 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm. (rehearsals go to 4:30 pm spring semester when Pride doesn't rehearse.)

Every day but Tuesday. Plus you miss a lot of classes if you go to away games.

Yeah, I'm full-time up here. They haven't changed any rehearsal schedules that I know of, though.

Do they get full scholarships or do they still have to do the band thing, school, and then maybe work for extra cash...

As I have said before, congratulations on that, it is a big deal and I know it....We do not always co-exist well on this board but I genuinely respect your accomplisments...

There are some scholarships for the Pride, but no one gets a full ride. I think the scholarships usually top out around $1000 per semester, and not many people get that much. They do use quite a few work-study people in the offices, though; you could look into that, too.

I did work study towards the end of my time in band, but it wasn't much. I would say only 5% of the people in band get scholarships. Most people are paying for the credit hour themselves and a lot of them do work on top of the rehearsals and class work, so it does take a lot of time. It is very rewarding though becuase you do get to do some really cool stuff and go a lot of places.

All that rehearsal time aside, you get to play the most awesome fight song/state song combination on the planet.

Goosebumps baby! Goosebumps! (especially when the low brass comes in with the Boomer Sooner chorus towards the end of the song).

From my experience, Wind Symphonies rehearse whenever the need arises.
