Are they still around and do ya'll know of any close to McKinney and/or Ft. Smith?

The last time I saw a movie at a Drive-In was when I was a little girl and they were showing Grease.

I think it would be sooo cool to go to one and "re-live" the memories.

I used to go there from time-to-time. I think the last movie I saw there was Jack the Bear (which was horrible, BTW).

The Beacon in Guthrie (on Division) is where we used to go in high school.

Winchester is the one on the southside. North of 240 on Western.

It's not that far away at all! Thanks!

I remember going to the Drive-In in Lawton (I think it was called the 82nd Drive-In) off of 82nd street. My mom would make my sister and I take baths and put on our pajamas before we went, that way we'd be all ready for bed when we crashed in the back of the suburban at the end of the first feature. If I remember correctly, they showed double features all the time there.

Big ol' bags of homemade popcorn, cokes and M&M's... plus trying to get the damn speaker to hang onto the window just right...

Wow! What a smile those memories bring to my face!

We still have one here in Lakeland, with TWO screens.
Watch out the front or the back :D

I cant remember what the last movie I saw at a drive-in was, I was usually trying to get my hands all over parts of my date that she didnt always appreciate. We didnt go to the drive-in to see the movie.

I've never been to a drive-thru. I keep wanting to stop there sometime on my way to or from Waco, but that'd be kind of lame.

I believe the one off Western and 240 is called The Winchester.

I've seen several movies there. It's been a while though. I believe the last time was Titanic and Deep Impact as a double feature. It's a lot of fun.

There is a relatively new one in Shiner, we haven't made it down there yet.

I went to the Winchester twice this summer. It's a pretty good deal. You have to pay per person and it's about $5 for three movies. Their concessions are reasonably priced too. We always bring our own adult beverages though.

We have one on Historic Route 66 between Carthage and Joplin, MO. Ironically, it's called the "66 Drive-In".'

There's another one on the west side of Joplin on old 66, but it's out of business and houses junk cars now. The screen still stands and looks like it's brand new and ready to show a feature film....sad.

well it *is* Joplin you're talking about...a place where I was told by a resident it wasn't a good idea to flash anything bigger than a $5.

Had a blast back in the day at the El Rancho in Norman. Good times...

We have one near us up here- it seems to attract the local hillbillies and the screens are really small- too many of them in a small place on a hill...

Check out the pic on the bottom. Yes, the screen is that crooked.

I haven't been in years. I think I saw Cheech and Chongs "Up In Smoke" but I could'nt see it very well 'cause of all the smoke and damaged brain cells.

I've only been to a drive-in once. We saw Men in Black and Jurassic Park II.
