Brett Bowers fans? Anyone?

It seems every year I find a guy (usually special teams) that I love to watch play. Someone other than our studs (I always love to watch them play). This year it's Brett Bowers (26). I know he was nailed for a late hit last week, but I love those guys on ST that run down the field out-of-control and give up their bodies to make a play.

If you haven't paid attention to him, do so next week. You'll be glad you did.

Yeah, I've noticed him too. A little like Wes Welker. His dad used to coach at OSU.

He's the one that drove that huge kick returner back several yards before he finally got him to the ground. That was awesome.

Bowers is the kind of kid that makes this program tick. He thought about transferring before the season started, but decided to stay and make plays on ST. We appreciate the loyalty, Brett. :)

I met this guy when he was a HS senior in Jacksonville while i was working for the Jaguars. He and his family used to go to the same restaurant i went to to watch the OU games. He is a class act and was a pretty heavy hitter in high school. He hit a guy so hard in one game that he gave himself a concussion. true story.

Yeah, I've watched him for a few years now. He thought about transferring to Florida State, right? He was recruited as a safety, but we have too many athletes at that position. He would start for a lot of other schools and I'm glad we have him. ST is not appreciated enough.

Yep! In fact, I refer to him as the "new" Denison. I've never seen a guy get so amped to play ST as Denison did. Bowers seems to have that same fire!

I sit down by the North end zone goaline, west side. As the players run to that corner before kickoff, its always a close race between Bowers and Lewis Baker for coolest haircut. Baker took it last game with a nice "braid-hawk". Bowers had some sort of craziness shaved into the side of his head though...

Brett's one of the nicest guys around. Also the only white dude I've seen wearing a grill.
