a little too early to judge Clausen. and Sam's got a lot to work with, a very good D and a year older in his system.

Clausen may be a tool, but it's way too early to rip the kid on one start.

Not taking anything away from Bradford, but there is a lot of difference in the talent around the two. OUr massive offensive line hasn't allowed Sam to be even touched the majority of the time and the WRs have been making some plays. I love Sam's composure and attitude! He definitely has answered the big question mark that everyone had about the Sooners at the beginning of the season. Keep it up Sam!

Hey it was Jimmy Clausen who chose to go to ND... I hope he gets sacked 100 times and that ND goes 0-8 to start the season!!

Clausen is actually a pretty good kid. I mean, he cried on senior night cause marc tyler had broken his leg and couldn't play the rest of the season. ND has some talent, but it is YOUNG. They've also played two of the top defenses in the country and possibly two conference champs. I think the michigan game will show a little better of where clausen is at. I'm not taking anything away from bradford. I had a class with him, and he was always very respectful. He's really a nice guy, and I was definitely rooting for him cause I'm from the OKC area. He's a great player, and he is definitely playing better than clausen. Just give clausen some time.

Bradford might have some advantages around him that Clausen doesn't....

but if the two guys switched teams, Jimmy Clausen wouldn't be playing any better than Bradford. How could he? Would he have thrown for 9 TDs and only 7 incompletions?

Clausen should be good with time....but what Sam has done so far is ridiculous.

Hopefully the hype machine stays focused on Clausen...he can have it.

how many more years do we have to listen to how good michigan's defense is? they're defense has been overrated for the last 5 or 6 years. i'm not buying it anymore.

With all due respect to Bradford and his golden arm and scholarly mind, Clausen went up against Georgia Tech and Penn State. While they aren't championship teams, they are closer to that caliber than Miami and North Texas.

They really threw Clausen into the fire at ND. Charlie Weiss is a pro coach without pro talent!

I thought Bradford was the #17 pro-syle qb?I was thinking he was like barely top 20.Then again in my book if you really are among the top 20 HS QBs in the country, you must be pretty good>could not understand people who said we had no big-time talent at QB. Between Bradford and Nichol(top 10 dual-threat qb).

In any case I liked our QBs before the season and now I am crazy in love(man-crush wise) with Slingin' Sammy.

Know absolutely nothing about Clausen or his abilities. I am, however, glad he chose ND and not the Sooners. We don't need another "all about me" personality with HS rings, limos, etc. Reminds me of another little pretty boy that took the field and thought the world revolved around his backside. We saw how that turned out. Give me our humble Sam any day of the week.

I will take Sam Bradford any day over a snot nosed kid that announces his choice of college at the College Football Hall of Fame. Talk about arrogance -- reminds me of Ron Paulus their 3-time Heisman winner at quarterback -- oh wait, that was all hype and he never came close.

It would make a good year IMHO if Notre Dame went 0-12 including losing to the Service Academies. That would be absolutely perfect. They have been given bids to the BCS and Bowl Games when they deserved neither. They are too arrogant and greedy to join a conference so I wish them nothing but loses. Never liked them and never will.

Grew up in Big 10 territory when they had good defenses. Big 10 is way overrated and so are their defenses. Penn State used to play all cupcakes for the most part and go to Bowl games when they were independent. Now they joined the Big 10 very seldom compete for the Big 10 championship and yet someone wants me to believe that Penn State has this super defense. As for Georgia Tech defense, get back to us when they run the table.

Cannot believe anyone would make excuses for Notre Dame and for their whiney coach and arrogant quarterback. Between the haircut and limp wrist -- no thanks.

Most folks agree that decision making is a very important attribute of a winning quarterback.

How's this decision making example:
First, I'll fix up my hair like something from the Village Peoples wet dream archives. Next, I'll put on all these neat high school championship rings. Then, we'll all get in a huge limo and go to the College Football Hall of Fame, where I will reveal to the whole world that Notre Dame has won my talents.

I'd trust that kid in the 4th quarter in front of 80,000 screaming fans.

No one with any class or perspective about what he was about to embark upon would ever have engaged in this kinda MTV bush league JV stuff. Says something about his family too. Standby for a season of karma adjustment Mr Wonderful...
