UNION CITY, Ga. - A McDonald’s employee spent a night in jail and is facing criminal charges because a police officer’s burger was too salty, so salty that he says it made him sick.

Kendra Bull was arrested Friday, charged with misdemeanor reckless conduct and freed on $1,000 bail.

Bull, 20, said she accidentally spilled salt on hamburger meat and told her supervisor and a co-worker, who “tried to thump the salt off.”

On her break, she ate a burger made with the salty meat. “It didn’t make me sick,” Bull told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

But then Police Officer Wendell Adams got a burger made with the oversalted meat, and he returned a short time later and told the manager it made him sick.

Bull admitted spilling salt on the meat, and Adams took her outside and questioned her, she said.

“If it was too salty, why did (Adams) not take one bite and throw it away?” said Bull, who has worked at the restaurant for five months. She said she didn’t know a police officer got one of the salty burgers because she couldn’t see the drive-through window from her work area.

Police sent samples of the burger to the state crime lab for tests.

City public information officer George Louth said Bull was charged because she served the burger “without regards to the well-being of anyone who might consume it.”

why is she the one that is arrested? She told the manager before it was served what happened. I think the cop is abusing his power on this one. And sending it to the state crime lab? Yeah, if i was a taxpayer in that state, I would be a little p*ssed my $ was being used for that.

THat report is a bit different than what the police statement from the girl.

I wondered the same thing but it doesn't sound as the girls mgr did anything, she said they had been bitched out for wasting food and then she tried to clean the salt off. when the cop opened the burger it didn't look wiped off, it looked like it had an unusual layer of salt and pepper, like maybe she has a problem with cops and did it on purpose. Interpret for yourselves.

I got a horrible burger from the drive thru at McDs quite some time back. They got the toppings completely wrong and the meat patty looked abused.

I drove all the way back and showed it to the manager. After getting new food and a refund for the food I had purchased a young cook approached and admitted it was he that had made the bad burger. I've never had anyone do anything like that and the only thing I could think to say in response was "Well, back to the drawing board, Son".

I think every employee in the place busted out laughing and he probably heard about it for quite some time.
