g forces

ok this is going to sound stupid but why do g forces cause a person to pass out? Lack of blood to the head, lack of oxygen? they kept telling him to flex his legs

just wondering

blood runs out of the brain toward the lower extremity's...flexing the legs help stop the rush of blood. No, I'm not a Blue Angel, but I did stay at a.....nm

the leg flexing part is because most people tense up and restrict blood flow.
