My dad, who has absolutely no care about fashion, bought some shoes two months ago and didn't notice they were the kinds that light up until after he got home and had worn them for a few days.

He still wears them, even though he hates the fact they light up. He'd hate even more to waste the three bucks he probably spent on them.
