View Full Version : Troubleshoot My Truck

Okay, here's a puzzler for you car people.

My truck is dying when I slow down or stop for more than a few seconds. The engine kicks off and I get an oil light. I've added oil (not changed just added), but it's still doing it.

I have to turn the engine off for a few seconds and then restart it. I'm not having trouble restarting the engine unless I try to do it immediately after dying.

Don't add oil because of a light.

Add oil because the stick says it's low.

Sounds like IAC valve. Which motor you got?

If there is one, it isn't coming on. Just the oil light.

Forget IAC valve. Those bad boys are 350-500$$. I'd try a TPS Sensor. Napa. 28.49... Thats throttle position sensor. I had a similiar problem with 1994 5.2 jeep cherokee a few years back. I believe thats what i replaced for the fix. Might try pulling it off and cleaning it.

Take it to Autozone and see if they can put it on the diagnostic machine..not sure if yours is capable of that or not though.

While on topic can anyone recommend a reliable place in the Norman area to take a truck to get the AC fixed?

I aint in Norman But Im good and a hell of a lot cheaper :cool:
Sicem as has been said Befor you go swappin parts take it to Orielly or autopuke and ask em to scan it .

Wells Automotive. It's on Lindsay, roughly over by the KFC. Good people in there.
