Okay, here we are in Oklahoma. OUr beloved homeland was the most "Populist"-leaning state in the Union throughout the teens and twenties. In fact, we had more per capita card-carrying socialists in Oklahoma than just about anywhere else in North America.

That said, WTF is Labor Day not a big ol' dealio in Oklahoma? Did "big oil" and the dust bowl just beat the socialism out of us?

I didn't either and it's not a holiday here. Call me a socialist all you want but I was still hung over from Saturday.

Didn't the Green Corn Rebellion end Socialism in Oklahoma?

Didn't the Green Corn Rebellion end Socialism in Oklahoma?

I think it was more the iron fist of Gov. E.W. Marland.

Iron fist or the embarrassment of having a Gov who married his daughter?
