Being as I'm so nice to my boss and have never really asked for anything much less demanded anything from him, he has seen fit to give me a raise.

I think I'm very good at my job as well. I guess I'm not the only one!!

I don't know if the companies you guys work for are this way but the one I work for is filled with greedy bastards. The guys I work with are always complaining to each other and to our bosses. They tell the coordinators stuff like, 'No, I will not go to a well in the panhandle or Arkansas' 'I don't work with so and so'. Not me. I learned in the military that just because you have to have a weiner in your mouth it doesn't mean that you have to suck it. ;) Or whatever ;)

When they sent me out here they called me at 6pm and said that I needed to be there ASAP. I just said 'Yes sir, I'll grab my stuff and go. I had grand plans to be on the lake the next day but I know who really pays for that boat. We are highly overpaid for one and for two the job is very enjoyable, most of the time.

You know, it amazes me how few people in their 20s realize that the fastest way to advance in a company is to show up for work early, work hard, and do what the boss asks you to do while indicating a willingness to learn more or take on unpleasant tasks.

At our company if you are really good at your job, you get a puny raise. You have to basically do the work of someone at a higher pay scale than you to get a good raise. :mad:

congrats, 1tc.

a few years back, my wife got me a paperweight that says "give more, expect less". it's amazing, everyone who sees it comments on it one of two ways. the go-getters in our company ask where she got it. the one's who bitch about doing more than their fair share pr getting passed over scoff at it.
