So, I'm a relatively young 28 and I work in a field with a bunch of grouchy old men. My favorite thing ever is to call them "son"

I think it's hilarious and it usually gets an interesting reaction.

seriously, though, I haven't ever used it in a deragatory way and it's great for lightening the mood in tense situations.
