Defense was great. Or was Mississippi State's offense that bad? hmm.

We would have held them regardless, but 5 of the 6 INTs were Henig throwing the ball up for grabs. Probably an equal dose of the two.

Forget about the turnovers, that defense was quick. That LSU offense got showed up by Mississippi State though.

I'd agree with that for the most part. We are showing the effects of Saban not recruiting well on the offensive line during 2004 and 2005. I think we were pretty vanilla on offense for the bulk of the game (and still rang up half-a-hundred).

Defense was great, offense wasn't that impressive.

Doucet looked awesome. Like always, watching Holliday is a blast.

that QB Henig for miss st looked like a lost dog out there...poor guy didn't have a chance...i'm gonna say that half the time I turned the channel back to the game, henig was throwing an oskie...LSU is good, fast, deep...they didn't look great, but let's be real...no one is going to play their best football for game 1...with that being said, i think LSU will lose 1-2 games...but i was diggin the purple jerseys..they should wear those more often for home games

1 outta 6 times when Henig threw the ball there was an interception.

Championship, lock it up.

It's Leslie.

An LSU fan should know.

I didn't understand the play calling for ms? They moved the ball some early, then they kept going for the long stuff, over and over. It made no sense, the poor QB stood in the pocket long enough that he was getting smashed over and over. It was stupid. They should have kept running and mixing it up with short stuff that took advantage of the over pursuit of the d.
If I were an LSU fan I would be praying that the offensive plan for this game was pure vanilla because if it wasn't, they might be in trouble.

You rang up half a hundred because Croom didn't go with the more talented QB in place of the more experienced one until the game didn't matter. He should have pulled Henig a lot earlier than he did. I'll give your defense credit for taking advantage of the mistakes of the kid, and your offense for cashing in on those mistakes. But for I'd say 3 quarters of that game the Miss. St. defense outplayed the LSU offense, they just didn't get any turnovers out of it, and kept being forced back on the field by their terrible offense.

I'll give you guys credit though, at least you scheduled your first game against a conference opponent, and not a Murray St. or Buffalo, or god forbid a Weber St. (yes Boise this means that nobody cares one iota that you got off to a 'smashing' start.)

First of all, did :les: take that math back to the bayou with him from Stoolwater?
And second, no bayou trash should ever be mis-quoting Switzer as it pertains to their team's scoring.

LSu is good, but they could have concerns when they play some of the more well-rounded teams in the almighty sec.

I also see them losing 1 or 2 this year, They could still play for the bcs though. VERY talented.

If i were lsu, i would be very concerned about my offense going into a game against va tech next. but for those that love defense, that game is gonna be frickin awesome.

hmmm...

The Crooms held you to 3-0 for awhile. Shouldn't you be worried about how rusty your starting QB looked, or the fact that your offense took awhile to get going against freakin' Miss. State?

You're going to have problems in the SEC this year, "friend" :D

Why was Flynn running so much? Some of those looked like designed quarterback runs. Umm, Les, he isn't Bobby Reid (he can throw), and this is not the best offense EVAR...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Les Miles has a big head to match his big mouth, which never stops running. So we're told.
