I liked the Illusionist much better. But critics choose the Prestige.

I haven't seen the Illusionist yet. I plan to watch it soon, and I'll attempt to be unbiased. But I can't see myself liking it more than I liked The Prestige. I shall respond when i have seen both :D

Illusionist was infinitely better. The way it was shot and the music. Just a better movie.

similar in that they came out the same year, and involved magicians and deception.

Other than that they are a lot different.

Both had all star casts and were done very well.

Overall I like the Prestige. It had to be one of the cleanest movies that I was able to show to my kids and see if they could figure it out.

The Illusionist was good. It wasn't the same as the Prestige and was good in it's own way.

"Are you watching closely?"

The Illusionist was better. Both were a bit predictable. The Prestige's whole xerox the dood was too much and put it over the top.

I disagree

Me too, can you imagine having to drown yourself everynight for 100 nights straight?

Single viewing - The Illusionist

Multiple Viewings - The Prestige

Both damn good flicks.

The more important question is?

Scarlett or Biel

Exactly. How infinitely creepy was the line "Each night, I never knew if I'd end up in the box or behind the stage" (or something to that effect).

Plus, as much as I love me some Edward Norton, Christian Bale > Eddie N.

Biel, and it isn't even close.

going by cast/crew alone, The Prestige wins hands down.

The Prestige:
Christopher Nolan (writer/director)
Hugh Jackman
Christian Bale
Michael Caine
Piper Perabo
Scarlett Johansson
David Bowie
Andy Serkis
Wally Pfister (cinematographer)

The Illusionist:
Edward Norton
Paul Giamatti
Jessica Biel
Rufus Sewell
Phillip Glass (composer)

Both very good, though I'd probably go with The Prestige for teh win.

Does anybody mind if I take Piper Perabo?

If the guy had a brain he would have copied himself once and done the trick with a double.

Alas he was an idiot and blind with obsession.

The illusionist by far.
