in the Oklahoman the other daythey said that the statues in OU's Heisman Park were a Centennial Commission project and that osu turned down an offer to build a similar statue of Barry Sanders for them.I'm thinking that they figure Barry's statue would be awful lonely for the next 50 years being in the osu Heisman Park by himself. :D

For Thurman ('87), 5th place = moral victory = Heisman = statue

As it does for Bob Fenimore ('45), who had more yards than Davis or Blanchard, was also on an undefeated team, yet got snubbed. He gets a statue, too.

Terry Miller ('76 & '77) finished in the top 5 as well, so he gets a statue... Make that two.

Ernest Anderson ('82) and Gerald Hudson ('90) both led the nation in rushing, so they get statues.

We simply didn't have enough room for all of our statues, so we had to respectfully decline. After all, we're a powerhouse.

They could have placed a bronze football on the ground in honor of Brent Parker.

:rolleyes:Hell ag if we built a statue for every Sooner who had a top 10 finish in the Heisman voting OUr Heisman Park would extend all the way from Norman to Stoolwater.I guess then ags could get a up close look at REAL FOOTBALL TRADITION.

Man, you guys lighten up on OSUAggie. I thought it was good humor.

Not a lot of us would stick around for the abuse he takes from some of you.

Don't forget the bronze baseball bats in the Whataburger parking lot.

That's not nice. After all, they were taking on their "rivals" from Langston according to the Daily Oklahoman.

OSU declined and said that they have another plan for their only Heisman memorial per OKlahoman.

From the internal info, they tented to put the 10 Barry Sander status on the field in the middle (at 0,0) of T bone 21 century 80+ football stadium.
