Idaho congressmen pleaded guilty to attempted hook-up in an airport mensroom. Of course, he now insists it's all a big misunderstanding. Maybe he was out of TP and was groping around the guy's feet in the stall next to him for an extra roll. It could happen...

I'll bite. If I read your statement correctly, you are asking if I agree with something that has already been proven? Sure, it could (re)prove that. It could also prove that the only way to get elected in Idaho is to toe the conservative line. Understatedly, my home state is not known for tolerance. Craig was a big supporter of veterans, and did some good for us there.

Perhaps more guilt from being a draft-dodger who joined the ARNG from 1970-1974. Linkage (http://www.vote-smart.org/bio.php?can_id=S0241103) or Lingage, part deux (http://craig.senate.gov/lec_biography.cfm)

Yes.

I think there's a sexuality continuum. At one end are people (men and women) who only find women attractive, at the other end are people who only find men attractive, and then there's a middle ground of people who could go either way under the right circumstances. People who think you can choose which gender you're attracted to might be right in a way; maybe they can choose because they're close to the middle, and they assume everybody else is that way. There are also people who are at the "wrong" end of the continuum who cannot accept that, and are desperate to believe that you can change your mind. So, the biggest anti-gay histrionics are probably from people who are personally struggling with a choice (real or wishful thinking) to not be gay.

I don't believe in gay marriage and most Americans don't believe in it either. That doesn't mean I'm a closet queen. I just don't believe in it. Now I don't advocate picking on gays or making their lives miserable. I do get a little tired of the whole homophobe thing though, just because I think that lifestyle is wrong doesn't mean I fear gays or hate them.

with all of the other bull**** going on, aren't there other things to be worrying about? why single out the gays in the first place?

not believing in something vs. promoting legislation against something are two different things

I don't single them out. Gay marriage has never been legal in the U.S.

I am not aware of any legislation currently being promoted against them. They put the gay marriage thing up to state votes in 13 states, some red states and blue states, in 2004. All 13 states voted against it.

seems there is at least one state that allows it, Vermont maybe? and what happens if someone moves from there? are they no longer married? what if they got married in Canada? it's more of a federal thing than a state thing IMO

I'm with chick on this one. And why would a guy plead guilty to lewd conduct, when all he did was tap the cop's foot? It seems to me, some lewd conduct should take place before someone is arrested for lewd conduct.

For the record, I think the senator is probably a sicko.

it is more than foot tapping and "wide stance"...it appears he ran his hand under the stall 3 times and also move his foot to where it was touching the officer's foot.

this is after he stared into the officer's stall for 2 minutes and then entered the next stall and blocked the door with his luggage.

wierd.

(i agree that i would like to see more (haha) before the charge but the idea that he regrets pleading guilty now is just stupid)

I disagree. Gay people have the same rights as anyone else to marry a person of the opposite secks. What they want are additional rights... to marry someone of the same secks.

Ergo, they are asking for more than the rest of us. That's kinda unconstitutional.

Illegals can stay and work.
I can speed all I want.

my own half baked bit on gay marriage:

Gay used to mean "having or showing a merry, lively mood"....basically being happy. Then the homos appropriated that word, and we can't really use it to describe us being happy. In fact, I bet there are some out there that are less happy for not having that word, and believe that the homos, having appropriated that word, are more happy.

Now, these homos want to get married. well, marriage ain't for happy folks!!!! I think there are some that fear that gays will have happy marriages if we allow them, and that just won't be good for anyone.
