Lets say you were planning on leaving OKC and driving by yourself. You have up to 8 days to get there and back. Which way do you head out? What do you go see?

sounds great, except you'd only have about 30 minutes to spend at each location.

Eight days? Go to freakin' Santa Fe. Ski for three days. Go to Vegas. Do Vegas type things for three days. Go home.

I would not want to drive to Seattle. Guh. If you're going up there, fly.

i'd head to the Redneck Riviera. school is back in and the tourists are gone. you'd have the place to yourself.

Santa Fe is pretty sweet and is less than a day away. Las Vegas is an all-day drive, but it would be worth it.

Go west, that's the most bang for your buck. You have two main options: Hit up a bunch of national parks in the four corners states, or spend a while in California, but see quite a bit of the southwest along the way.

Drive to Wyoming, and see Jellystone and the Grand Tetons. Beautiful, and you cool off really nice, too.

Plan a baseball trip - stop in St Louis for a Cards game, up to chicago for the Cubs, Milwaukee for the Brewers, back to Chicago for the White Sox, then back through Kansas City for the Royals...might also stop at some of the upper Midwest minor league parks as well..

We did the Black Hills of SD, Wyoming (bighorns, Yellowstone, Tetons), then drove through Colorado on the way back. Took us 10 days, but we spent a few days with family. It was great, but 3200 miles - a lot of driving. The other bad thing is unless you cut over and drive through Colorado, there ain't jack to see between here and there.
