If they could put butts in stadium seats, the fencing team wouldn't have to have car washes. Frankly, they should just be happy they are a "varsity" sport and STFU.

Even if there wasn't title IX, men's olympic sports wouldn't ever turn a profit. It comes down to deciding whether intercolleigate athletics are for giving students an outlet to develop themselves as people, or to make money for the college. Right now, D-1 schools try to make the two systems co-exist.

Ima call bs on this one. Universities and Athletic Departments use Title IX as an excuse to cut non revenue sports when the Athletic Department budget gets crunched from time to time.
