OU versus (p)UNT score predicitions?

I believe... I hope this one gets ugly for the greenies quickly. But watching OUr last three openers, I could end up breathing really heavy in the 4th again which would be the suck. :mad:
Still, methinks something along the lines of 49-3, OU. UNT will be thoroughly pwn3d, but OU will manage some kind of bone-headed turnover that will allow some kind of score. That's okay though, better this game than the next.
It will be an ugly 49 points. Boring offense, and not 49 points because we call the dogs off, but because we manage 49 points in regulation stretching OUr legs. Killer ground game, Murray's limited carries with exceptional numbers leaves fans thirsty for more. Sammy B has a good, but not ungodly performance (something like 12-19, 2 TD, 0 INT) leaving us confident for Miami.

We get into the red zone a couple of times and stall, and are forced to kick 4 field goals. We end up getting 4 TDs in some form or another though.

Our defense also bends a little bit through the first half but they don't break and they give up 2 field goals. The backup D gives up a TD late in the 4th quarter.

This is the worst opponent that we've had for an opening game since...North Texas in 2003, although that was when they were actually decent (you know, by North Texas standards). Not the case now, but Todd Dodge is a high school coaching legend who knows how to coach an offense, and we're always rusty in the first game.

This game will be a blowout but not by the numbers. Rely on the ground game and the time is going to move much quicker and won't allow as many scoring drives.

The game will be a shut out. UNT will try a couple of trick plays in the second half our D will redeem itself and sniff it out! We will be up 35-0 going into the fourth quarter and with about 9 minutes left KN goes in and cleans up he suprises everyone and the talking heads can't get enough. Sam suprises everyone but has at least one interception and 2 TD's in the air. The running game will be stellar.

I've been to several Carrol Dragon games - it was like a college program from pre-game to the final whistle.

That said, there probably aren't a hand full of guys at UNT that could make the OU three deep chart.

Plus, I have friends who played with Bob Stoops and Todd Dodge is no Bob Stoops.

My son is attending UNT for his Jr and Sr years. Moved him up there on the 19th. He's staying in the dorm next to the practice fields. (Victory dorms) So I would assume most of the athlete's would be in this building. Saw only a few guys that were large enough for football. I was thinking, these guys don't even know what's going to hit em. Oh, I did see one student with an OU cap on. Funny... Also, there were a lot of drama and music students in these dorms.

When I was leaving class today from the stadium parking lot, they had a scoreboard prediction up inside the stadium.

It was OU 42, UNT 3. OU had a little over 500 yards of offense, about 200 rushing and 300 passing. UNT had like 60 rushing and 140 passing for just over 200 yards.
