Choctaw Creek.

No grass on half the greens. Oh, but they gave us a free green fee. Can't wait to use that.

you haven't played the Alva Country Club course. its pretty craptastic also

Newbomb Turk

you would be correct, I have not played Alva. But it's a country club so it must be nice.

So what's the story?

Last time I was out there, God knows how long ago, it was in decent shape. Not super tight or anything, but at least it was puttable if not a little shaggy.

New owners or something?

I don't know what happened, but the greens have a bunch of dead spots - maybe fungus. Plus that course has zero design imagination - almost every hole is straight.

you would think so, but its not. but that was under the old management, i guess they got a new manager about a year ago, so it could be better now.

Ah, but did you get a hole in one?

Check out Purcell's municipal course. For a municipal course, they've got a pretty damned good one. My only complaint is that their golf carts are gas powered, and for whatever reason I vastly prefer the electric.

more specifically, electric is battery powered.

the layout is OK. When I played there a dozen or so years ago they had a crummy little clubhouse and crabgrass fairways.

The clubhouse still sucks, but the fairways are pretty decent.

I hope the crappie were in the creek, and not on the course.

Newbomb Turk

there was some crappie on the course with some of my shots. :D

our team did finish 2nd though.

I just played the Lake Murrey state course near Ardmore. Well only nine holes due to rain. It wasnt bad. I recommend it.

nice, last tourney i played was our yearly spring tourney, we played 3 man scramble. i think i spent more time hittin on the beer cart girl rather than playin golf.

I have never played in a 3 man scramble. 2 man, 4 man but never 3 man. Just doesn't fit the 2 people to a cart thing I guess. And I don't walk anymore.

I take it you've never trod the fairway of "The Links at Tumbleweed Creek" near Guymon.;)

It's part of a golf package offered out of Garden City, KS. You can play Tumbleweed and Feedlot Hills for one price.

Feedlot Hills sounds very nice.

I played the Celebration Station links in Tulsa last month (course #2 if I remember right). IMHO better than Choctaw Creek.

Chickasa Point in Kingston was pretty nice...don't miss the fairway though or you'll spend hours looking for balls. Trust me on that one:D

Coffee Creek is a good course. Make hay on the front nine. The back nine is tight. Have a good round.

my uncle keeps tryin to get me to come play a round with him up at Romanose state park, but i've heard its a decently hard course.

i played Roman Nose once. it's kinda cool. some good holes. the whole park is sort of interesting, i thought (as a kid who reluctantly has to admit he had a pretty good time there even though didn't want to go on the family weekender).

i might have to take my uncle up on his offer, he said he could take me as his guest. maybe on the bye week before saxet this year

There's a course in Hinton that I'm supposed to play, anybody played it? I assume that there's only one course there.

It's a pretty good course - back nine is fun.
