Wife of Police Chief Arrested on Drug Charges

WENDOVER, Utah (AP) -- The wife of the Wendover police chief has been arrested for selling drugs at the club where she strips.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports that on Friday 39-year-old Sylvia Tripp was booked into the Elko County, Nevada, jail on suspicion of two counts of drug distribution and one count of possessing medication without a prescription. She was released the same day after posting $15,000 bail. Formal charges have not been filed.
Tripp is the wife of Wendover, Utah, police Chief Vaughn Tripp.
Craig Ronzone, commander of Elko County's drug task force, says Sylvia Tripp was one of three people arrested early Friday in a drug sting. Ronzone says Sylvia Tripp works as a stripper at the club Southern X-Posure in West Wendover, Nev., and sold drugs there to undercover officers.
Tripp's stage name is "Ecstasy" and police say she sold prescription pain relievers including oxycodone and morphine tablets
Ronzone says Vaughn Tripp is not under investigation at this time.
