Can't find a link to just the poll so I'll post the story.

That has more usc gushing than a Truman Capote Anal Lube commercial.

The Trojans are preseason No. 1 for the sixth time overall, tying Nebraska for third most. Only Oklahoma (nine) and Ohio State (seven) have been top-ranked in the preseason by AP more often.

I heard their AD was going to announce next week that USC was going to recognize and put up banners retroactively for AP Preseason #1 rankings in 1937, 1939, 1942, and 1951 so that they can be first in something.

Why all the love every season for West Virginia? I just don't get it

Yeah, so that's actually a story about USC, which just happens to mention the AP rankings. Would've been nice to have just given the numerical listings.

I just don't see USC losing to anyone they play this year. I don't think they're unbeatable, though.
Same thing with us in 2003 and 2004, there was no one on the schedule that we couldn't handle if we played with OUr heads in the right place. I do think if USC blows by that schedule like expected, they'll be more than surprised when they make it to the BCS. Maybe even :stunned:.

schedule. they look for teams that have the best shot at going undefeated. if you only play two good teams, your chances are decent.

If USC is as good as most believe, chasing down the Trojans could be too much to ask.

Makes me puke.

True dat, but seems like they always lose 1 they shouldn't; maybe it's just my imagination though

All that matters is who is playing for the crystal ball in January. Polls in August are not important....I believe OU was 23rd in 2000 and look who hoisted the Crystal at the end!

These two rankings will need to be swapped around after the Red River Game...

It matters because we will not be able to beat the back to back to back top 5teams to move way up in the BCS rating system.

We need Texas to stay in the top 10 and hope that A&M, Mizzou and OKIE ST and TECH stay rated high in the top 25 or so- Or we may have a hard time passing up West Virginia in the polls. I bank on LSU loosing one but if not we could be on the outside looking in this time around.

I was watching the 2007 College Football Preview Show yesterday with Terry Bowden and Spencer Tillman. They only mentioned OU literally four times, the sorry bastiges. Two times when Bowdenette referred to Tillman, once when he was talking about TCU ("they did beat Oklahoma early on a couple of years ago" - what the hell does THAT have to do with the 2007 season, praytell?), and once when Tillman picked Boise State as the surprise team, referring to when they "broke my Sooner's heart".

On their list of "Must-See Games" this season, not one game of OU's was listed. Not us playing Miami, Texas...none. My six was getting seriously chapped at this point in the show.

Their Sporting News All-American Offense AND Defense list don't even mention ONE single Oklahoma Sooner. That's just not right. And prefacing part of the show, they showed coaches like Carroll and Brown saying "...and why some coaches just WIN". Stoops wasn't mentioned or shown. I'm realizing that watching this show was a waste of a whole precious hour of my life. What drivel.

They listed the Top 25 as follows:

1) USC
2) LSU
3) Michigan
4) West Virginia
5) Florida
6) Texas
7) VA Tech
8) Wisconsin
9) Louisville
10) UCLA
11) Florida State
12) California
13) OKLAHOMA
14)Georgia
15) Penn State
16)Auburn
17) Ohio State
18) Tennessee
19) Rutgers
20) TCU
21) S. Florida
22) Boise State
23) Nebraska
24) Southern Miss
25) BYU

Other than those four offhand references, they did not speak of the Sooners one time. WTH?

I HATE living in the East...
