I was thinking about getting into that. Does anyone have any experience with reloading ammo?

I think Jerk does. I reload by eating beans.

you'll need dies, a press, case tumbler, a scale, brass, bullets, and some pig fat.

Like reloading bullets or reloading shotgun shells? My dad does both.

yep. Why are you looking to do reloads? is it so you can control the load or to try to save money?

I'm bettin' your going to dispell the myth of one of these reasons?

I'd like to do both. These .300 WSM rounds are not cheap.

I also think it would be fun.

So, you going to get the RCBS kit or what?

If you want me to make a list of every single thing you'll need, then I will.

I think I covered most of it though in the Hooker thread.

Progressive presses are the only way to go with handgun ammo because you shoot a lot more at the range with a pistol. I can spend several hours at the range with 50 rounds of rifle ammo shooting from the bench. A handgun will spit that out in 5 minutes of casual plinking. So you need to reload more, and you need to reload faster.

That said, I don't own a progressive press and they are out of my department of knowledge. I have heard, though, that the Dillon 550 (or is it 650?) is the way to go here.

I used to reload shotguns shells all the time when I was shooting skeet competively. I saved alot of money but I was shooting a bunch at the time (probably shot a case of shells every two weeks). Back then lead was pretty cheap, 25lbs cost about $20.00. I don't reload much now and still have several cases of reloaded Win. AA's waiting for dove season.

I also like having the opportunity to adjust my load, instead of having to use the 1 and 1/8th ounce store bought loads I started shooting 1 ounce loads and it really helped with flenching due to less kick after shooting 4-6 rounds of skeet in a day. It's fun to reload but I would'nt make the investment until I knew I was really going to shoot alot.
