I mean come on. You guys kinda suck lately. Too much Modern Marvels and Ice Road Truckers and not enough B&W WWII stuff.

I do like Lost Worlds though.

Man I miss the Military Channel.

I've been thinking the same thing. Ice Road truckers should be over soon, and I HATE that new show they have on after it with the guys going around the world showing different types of Kung-FU.

Why miss it? It's on channel 287 on DirecTV. :)

I'm IN for more classic B&W WWII footage. Anybody remember the series "World at War" narrated by L. Olivier? How about the awesomeness (and beyotchin soundtrack) of "Victory at Sea"?

The Color of War was pretty good. I thought I saw my grandpa in that one time but that would be some pretty big odds.

I dig it too.

Has anybody else seen that South Park where they make fun of Russel Crowe with that "Fightin' Round the World' show where R.C. just goes around picking fights with people in other countries? I laughed at the similarities in theme the first time I saw H.W.

The Universe show they have going is pretty dang addicting too. Covers a lot of stuff I used to know but forgot, and tosses in a lot of new stuff too. Not to mention cool graphics.

While I like Human Weapon, I don't think it belongs on the history channel. It's more along the lines of discovery or TLC. I want the history to fill one particular niche in my TV programming, and they have been failing at that these days.

That World at War series is a great dvd set. Lots of interviews, Albert Speer, Hasso von Manteuffel, Curt Le May, and a young Stephen Ambrose. I usually show a couple of episodes in the classrom, especially the "New Germany" installment.

Yes, absolutely excellent. My grandfather was in the Pacific Theater from 1943 to 1945 flying with a P-38 squadron, so the interviews with Curtis LeMay are particularly fascinating to me on a personal level.

Modern Marvels is boring, and it seems like it's always on whenever I need to get some history watching done. :(

I swear I saw myself in a picture of the crew of the Bismarck on a show a few years ago. I haven't been able to find that picture anywhere since, but it kind of freaked me out a little.

some of them are kind of cool. like "police tech" and history of weasons, were both really interesting.but then there are some like "trucking" that are kind of stupid. one i watched today was "dangerous cargo".

They dont attack you physically. Its the mental part of it that gets you. The name calling and the rudeness. The smug just begins to wear on you until you finally have to invade them and get your a$$ kicked by the United States and England. At least thats what I think happened to Germany. Twice.

History Channel is like an even-worse TLC or Discovery right now. History Int'l >>>>>>>> HC

There is a WWI documentary (http://military.discovery.com/tv-schedules/series.html?paid=52.13679.111435.28736.1) on The Military Channel (http://military.discovery.com/) right now, plenty of B&W in that footage.
