why aren't the caddies wearing the apron thing they usually wear? The thing that has the player's name on the back.

Newbomb Turk
8/11/2007, 03:53 PM
I don't know if they normally wear them in the PGA or not. If they do, I'm guessing they caught a break cause it's so damn hot.

I had no idea that Kenney Chesney was a pro golfer.

He does look more gay on the golf course than he does on stage.

is this possible?

My Dad, who works for Cedar Ridge Golf Course, got a mechanics pass for the PGA tourny. He got to park his car 70ft from the #5 tee box along with a dozen other cars. Said he unplugged his car alarm.;)

Something else thats kinda wild.

I had to get online and order him a PGA windtec pullover. He looked around the golf shop while he was at the tourny, but they were sold out. Then he tried to order one online from pga.com and it said he couldn't because he lives within 100 miles of Southern Hills.

Tiger will put on a clinic today. he'll hit stingers and 4 iron off all the tees and dare the field (about 7 players with a reasonable snowball chance to win) to shoot 65.

someone will go low, but it won't be enough. or be coming from too far back. Eldrick is a cold-blooded, conservative leader.

Newbomb Turk
8/12/2007, 12:06 PM
To me the biggest reason Tiger will win today is the way he is putting. Even if he does miss fairways or greens, he can still make the putts to save par.

and you're right, he plays smart golf when he has a lead.

It's just that Woody will kind of say what he thinks vs. most of the other guys. I'm also sure that if the other guys do feel this way, but they also know that Tiger has made the tour what it is today.

did anybody see the graphic at the end of the tournament, just before CBS signed off.......they showed the dozen or so golfers that made the cut for ALL 4 majors.....tiger was the only one in red numbers......the closest golfer was about 15 strokes away

telling....

Yup. The AC was very nice. Now if I had one of those nice comphy recliners they had setup looking over #16, I would have been in heaven.

The wings were very nice. The best thing was the free alcohol. Something I didn't even get in the clubhouse!!!!

My wife and I were there. We showed up around 9:30a.m., grabbed a couch early and didn't give it up. :D We watched every group putt on #15 and tee off on #16. Absolutely great day.

I'm no Eldrick fsupporter, but some of Austin's comments seemed a little unnecessary.

I don't think Woody's problem is with Woods so much as it is with the media.

He's 100% right about how the media treats Woods compared to the other guys, like he said "Woods beats his driver on the ground and it's 'competitive fire' I do it and I'm a 'loose cannon' " There's a double standard there for sure...I didn't hear Woody "God Dammit" ing his way through the back nine as Woods was...

agreed, as soon as Woody hangs a few skins on the wall, the media wont treat him like the former bank teller/journeyman golfer that he is!

He probably is right, but I think you get the "loose cannon" label when A) you're a spaz to begin with and B) you break your putter over your head when you miss a putt.

What I found equally impressive was through 44 majors, Tiger has the edge in wins (13-11) but Jack had 10 2nd place finishes, plus several 3rd place finishes. That is incredible.

Woody can blame the media, but he really just has an issue (jeolously) with Tiger.

Imagine those type of comments coming from Mike Gundy "OU gets all the attention from the media, fans, etc. If they don't win the Big 12, they get all pi$$y. That's all anyone in this state wants to talk about". We would all laugh and note the obvious differences between OUr program and theirs. Woody is to the PGA what OSU is to college football. 13 1st place
4 2nd place
3 3rd place
2 4th place
1 5th place

He has played in 50 majors, and has either won or finished top 5 in 23 and Top 10 in 27.

had a blast on Sunday although I was a bit hungover and thought I might die early on.
Followed Kim on the front 9. he kills the ball (great swing) but made a bad decision on 5 to try to reach with driver in 2. he ended up in the rough.
then proceeded to short side himself on the next hole and get wet.
has a ton of talent though. my brother talked to Storm's wife who was in the gallery with us.
We waited on Tiger on #2 and his tee shot nearly hit us. he was really lucky his ball didn't hit anything (course he bogied anyway). Tiger and Daly hit the longest drives 2 I'd seen all week and both were into the trees.
we also got get up close to Darren Clarke on #2 after a wayward drive.

anywho, we watched Eldrick through 5 and then waited on him at the bend on #12. Adam Scott hit a drive of about 370 on that hole and then 3 jacked from 6 feet. Verplank parred from the trees.

It was a treat to watch Tiger smoke those irons. it was almost unbelievable. ESPECIALLY his 2nd on 18. we were behind him with a view into the green. he absolutey torched that 2nd shot.

anywho we watched him tee on 14 and then back around on 17, he walked right by me. eyes straight ahead.

good stuff. I was glad he won.

Went Saturday. The heat of course made it not as fun. After Ernie hit it over by the driveing range fence on 5 walked right behind him for 40 yards or so. Was pretty neat. I was amased at how far everone hit their drives. I knew it was long but tv does not do it justice. Him and Daly went on the birdie that hole.

Did anyone here Boomer Sooner after Tiger hit his drive I think on eighteen? A buddy told me it was him and another geology friend. Curtis Fitzpatrick on the animal this morning called them morons and stupid for doing it. I was going oh my gosh I know those guys. heh.
