Hey Mongo, new game watch location in Phoenix area!

Sooners,

I have exciting news ... this year we are shaking things up! We will be watching our beloved Sooners in both Scottsdale and Tempe (and I might even consider a 3rd location on the west side if I get enough feedback that it is needed).

Our new home to watch the Sooners this season will be the Tilted Kilt. The Tilted Kilt is thrilled to be the official home bar for the Oklahoma Sooners. They are going to advertise on their website that they are the official watch party location of the Sooners, hang banners up in the restaurant (and leave them up for the entire season), put posters in the windows and will play our games on the speakers ....the Scottsdale location will actually play our fight song when we score! (working on the Tempe location) They will offer drink specials too. I am so excited that we will have a restaurant that is enthusiastic about the Sooners and our club.

I should mention that the Tilted Kilt franchise system is owned by Sooners. Very Cool! Ron & Debra Lynch are the franchisor of the Tilted Kilt and they have owned Schlotsky's restaurants as well as the Miller's Sporting Goods stores in Oklahoma.

The General Manager at the Tempe location is from Oklahoma and so are several of the staff.

The General Manager of the Scottsdale location is not a Sooner, but God love him .... he is a HUGE Sooner fan! (Apparently the Stoops brothers visited the Scottsdale Tilted Kilt on several occasions during the week prior to the Fiesta Bowl.)

That's interesting. Of course, I organized the OU party there in Scottsdale before the Fiesta Bowl. As far as the one in Tempe that is closer to me, I watched the OU-aTm game and OU-Texas Tech games there...the manager when I was there was kind of a turd and did not give us a large screen inside cause two guys were watching Wake Forest-B.C. on it, so I requested the smaller outside patio on a smaller T.V. as long as we had some audio. He obliged so we watched those games back to back there.

I guess I will be at the one in Tempe when OU is not on the regular channels.

No, Boones was out there a few weeks ago staying out at the Marriott Desert Ridge and we went to the kilt one night.

Mongo and myself, along with some others got booted by some punk waiter there on a Saturday night. We aren't sure what it was for, but we probably had it coming to us. Spending all day poolside drinking whiskey doesn't always lead to good behavior.

The waiter had some boy band haircut and as we were being escorted out, Boones put his finger in said waiters face and told him "NSYNC hasn't been the same since you left". He didn't take too kindly to that.

I work at FLW/101 also. Just North of westworld. We should meet at zipps, 4 peaks, or Earls for a beer sometime.

I usually go to McDuffys in Tempe, but a client told me about 4 peaks. I like to stop bye there for a drink every so often on the way home from work, but it didn't sound like much fun for games. Tilted Kilt sounds like it's gonna be a blast.

I've been going to OU club game watch since 2000.

Did it really? Couldn't have been a few as in 3 years. That's where I go when the game is not televised anywhere. I think the last game I watched there was 05 season when we played atm. Last year I got to watch everygame either from my sofa or at the stadium, great year.

They closed about a year and half ago. I think I heard they're building condos on the site or something.

I'll definitely come if I can't get it at home. Tempe is fine, north Scottsdale ain't happening. The Kilt in Tempe is way smaller than the one up north though.

Well, I don't know who is talking to who about what, but I was at the Kilt for the UFC fight, and again today and no one there knows what games they are going to show. I was told that they have not yet chosen what teams they are going to show on the big screen with sound. It also sounds like they are leaning towards asu home town crap.
