New family member

Slickwife came home a couple of weeks ago with a yellow lab that had a hurt front leg. She saw him on the way to work and couldn't pass him up.

So three vet trips later, and slickdaughter's inheritance, we have Willie.
No replies to lost & found, nobody is looking for the fella. So he's now officially
in the family.

He has this large apparatus and 4 pins in his front left leg to stabilize the break. You could call him robodog.

Willie is a great dog, he was certainly someones pet. He'd already been fixed and is housebroken. Pictures to come later.

The vets guess he's about 2. Very gentle dog, he's doing great with slickdaughter.

Oh yeah, we named him Willie because the only thing near where slickwife found him was a truck stop that has a billboard up that they sell "Bio-Willie Diesel" (Willie Nelson), so we thought that would be good for him. We asked slickdaughter is she liked the name Willie, and she did, so that's his name.

We feel very strongly on this pet abuse topic. People that mistreat animals should have the same done to them.

you all have heard my shpeel on rescuing dogs a number of times. But I can't tell you the love you feel after rescuing an animal (yes cats to I guess) is amazing. I have rescued 4 dogs from various shelters here localy and Each one has been a great member of our family.

We now only have Milo and Molly both were abused and abondoned

According to my references, SlickWillie turns 61 later this month. That's 427 in dog years.

Well...attitude wise...not a good match at all...especially if you are rescuing a Bully...they can be very unpredictable at first and will fight for your attention, and do not like playing second fiddle...at least for a while...it can be very rough.
But if you are getting a puppy, that might be easier. If your Boxer is well mannerd, they should be fine. But it is kinda one of those things you just got to find out and deal with...either way JUST BE PREPARED!

But if you want a Bully to rescue (and I highly recommend it) the website i got mine is...

Both of my Bullies came from local families...Milo came from A BAD FAMILY!!!! I wont say anymore cause i get ****ED thinking about it.
Molly's family was nice just had no clue on what it take to raise a Bully right.

But again these dogs are better off in Foster homes than with people that don't know what they are doing. Hence a very in depth review process, and a home visit before consideration.

Probably five more weeks, but it could go as long as seven more (they initially said 8-10 weeks).

he's as gentle of a dog that I've ever seen. he's adapted to the house and us very well, and even our 9 year old pomeranian is glad he's here. GO SLICK WILLIE !!!!!
