Residence Inn
A+
This place is awesome. My room has a balcony that overlooks the canal and lovely I-40. It's a bigger room than the place I lived in in Denver.

Earl's Rib Palace
C
Ribs were OK, nothing to write home about but not terrible. Sliced Brisket wasn't very good at all. Neither had much of a smoke flavor.

Toby Keith's
C-
Expensive, food wasn't near as good as it cost. Had one very weak LIT and another that was stout. No chicks but I give them a pass as it was a Monday night.

Maker's
B
Cool atmosphere, good drinks. Not outrageous. No chicks but again, it was Monday.

I'll rate other places tomorrow.

Duh, I could have told you about Toby Kieths! I'm just glad after leaving there the night got a whole lot better for us. Hopefully it did for you too!

Maker's drinks are very overpriced. But it doesn't really matter to me, i don't pay for my own drinks. :D

Agree 100%. The so-called gravy was especially sucktacular.

We went to TK with my dad when we came through coming back from the USGP at Indy, it was alright, that's about it. Chuck House and Ann's have much better chicken fry. I spent a bunch of time in Bricktown around the time the canal was built, I was the architectural project manager on the JDM Place building. There wasn't as much down there at that time.

There is suppose to be a Leo's BBQ just north of Bricktown now, right around the Flatiron buildings.

With the name TK I was expecting what I had to be freshly made. Be a decent chicken fry. You could tell it was a frozen chicken fry that was already battered at the processing plant. Kinda like what you would find in those big bags of chicken frys at wal mart or from the Swan Man. Only thing I've had from there.

Just go have lunch or dinner at The Mantel to redeem any bad meals you have had in Bricktown. It is my favorite place down there.

And Leo's is open on 4th street, about 50 feet east of the downtown YMCA (pass the train overpass). I walk by it on a regular basis and can't tell there is even a restaurant there....which usually means it is good BBQ.

If that's "The" Leo of the old days, that is some good BBQ. I didn't know he still had any stores open. Used to have one on Western and one on Lindsey in Norman when I went to OU.

Leo has passed, his kids and wife fought over the stores and somehow they got split up. I loved Leo's cake.

My favorite thing in bricktown is Harkins.

This morning there was a piece of cardboard in the median on 4th street that read "You Just Passed Leo's BBQ". It is almost like they don't want people to know it is there. Frankly, I am a little scared to enter the door for fear of being caught in Zed's web and waking up with a ball gag in my mouth.

I love LiT, except I went there a couple weeks ago and only spent about 10 minutes in there because it was so sucktacular. First, the AC was not working so everyone was dripping sweat, and second, they had set up a band near the back and had removed all the booths. So there was pretty much no where to lounge, which is what I do when I go to LiT. Is that a permanent change, or was it just for that night?

The original Leo's location is still open at 36th & Kelly and is run by his son. Leo died quite a few years ago. We go there every time we come back to OKC. They were profiled on the Food Network show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives (http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/show_dv/episode/0,3151,FOOD_29156_51049,00.html) a couple of months ago. When we were up there last February Charles told us they had been there that week filming the segment. That episode is suppose to re-air a few times this month.

In the divorce Feedie got the Western location that she ran, it closed and is now Earl's. A smaller piece of cake is now included in the dinner.

They must read this thread because this morning they had a fancy-pants painted sign on the door and everything now. I may stop in for takeout next time I work out at the Y downtown.

Disagree, it pwns Chelino's (Bricktown version). The chicken medallions and pappas are great.
