before you stepped in a career job, what menial jobs did you have before you were "famous"

in no particular order

i had a newspaper route, cooked pizza's, flipped burgers, worked in the deli at tom thumb, worked at a security alarm monitoring station, and during summers on the farm, i did hay hauling, wheat harvesting, ranch hand for the cows....and i worked for 4 weeks with my ex father in law on hot tar roofs (worst job EVER)

Worked evenings for a video game distributor - answered the phone for trouble calls and cleaned video games and pinball machines. Nobody else was there and I could play free games the whole evening. Pay aside, still the best job I've ever had.

too many kitchen jobs to mention--from dishwashing to writing menus, sometimes both. but, the latter of which were good money full-time salary in Boulder, Lake Tahoe (California side, Tahoe City), and Summit County....for a swinging lifestyle in your late 20's. but, salary=60 hours a week, on-call, and basically no days off. good times though, no money saved.

hauling hay is pretty tough. i've done it, but i never had that as an official job. my dad tells a story about he and his cousin cleaning out a grain silo in August up near Perry that i've heard enough times to think it WAS pretty bad. by today's standards they probably suffered heat stroke.

I did meter readings and light maintenance on Pitney Bowes postal machines for about a year. What was cool was when you got the downtown Tulsa addresses. You could hit your daily quota in about 2 hours and then head to the pool then on to school. :D

i've had some pretty weird temp jobs too. like a place that manucatured Apple 2e keyboard frames in Gunbarrel, CO. they'd let you work as many hours as you wanted. making wrist-rocket slingshots in Boulder for trumark--big Wal-mart contract. another "work all you want" temp job.

http://www.slingshots.com/

you have a young boy in your life, or just wanna be cool: this is the single coolest item ever made. the rubber band gun. you can kill flies from across the room. turn on a light switch with a shot from the sofa. no joke. the best 10 dollars ever spent. six shooter.

Worked at a rock crusher - yes, we took big rocks and sent them through a series of crushers to make smaller rocks. As the summer help, every Friday afternoon I got to crawl inside of the crushers to change the screens - nothing like being inside a metal box on a summer afternoon in southeast Oklahoma!
Worked at an asphalt plant - laying hot ashpalt in August - you could sweat out 20 lbs a day!
