Oklahoma Men's Basketball to Face Gonzaga in All-College Classic

NORMAN, Okla. - A difficult 2007-08 University of Oklahoma men's basketball non-conference schedule got a little tougher with Wednesday's announcement that the Sooners will play Gonzaga in this year's All-College Classic in Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma will face the Bulldogs in the second game of the annual December event to be played at the Ford Center (time TBA). It will mark the first-ever meeting between OU and Gonzaga. The game will be televised by ESPN and will follow a meeting between Oklahoma State and Oral Roberts.

"This is another very challenging game on our schedule," said OU head coach Jeff Capel. "In terms of wins and NCAA Tournament appearances, Gonzaga has been as good as any other college basketball program the past several years. We're looking forward to this game and we hope our fans are, as well."

Gonzaga, which has participated in nine straight NCAA Tournaments, finished 23-11 last year and won the West Coast Conference with an 11-3 league record. The Bulldogs return three starters, including All-West Coast Conference selection Jeremy Pargo.

Gonzaga joins a growing list of quality opponents on the Sooners' non-conference schedule. Oklahoma also plays at USC on Nov. 29 as part of the inaugural Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series, hosts Tulsa and Arkansas on Dec. 5 and 15, respectively, and travels to face West Virginia on Dec. 29. Additionally, OU will play at TCU and will host Rice.

Gonzaga, USC (advanced to the Sweet 16) and Arkansas all competed in the 2007 NCAA Tournament, while West Virginia won the postseason NIT.

OU will also participate in the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer. The Sooners will be one of four regional host teams and play two games against yet-to-be determined opponents to start the season. If Oklahoma wins its two regional home games, it will travel to New York City to play two more games against potential foes Connecticut, Kentucky and Memphis inside Madison Square Garden.

Oklahoma's entire schedule, including TV appearance information, will be released later this month.

Saw this on the news earlier. Nice!

Combine us playing the Zags with Sean getting his *** waxed by his mid-major bro and you have one heck of an evening of basketball.
