Man, what a bunch of great videos. Except for a few notables: especially Creed. If I would have put a picture next to the definition of "harshing my thread," it would have been of Scott Staph... ...err... ...Stapp.

A good example of where someone should have paid attention to my suggestion regarding people under 35 staying out of the convo, Doleo.

Also, to reiterate, this thread is about "when MTV was teh awesome." Kriss Kross was NOT a part of that period. In fact, just about anyting in the '90s was NOT a part of that period. Nor was Paradise by the Dashboard Light, which came out 3 years before MTV began.

IMO, even most late-'80s stuff was marginal. The golden age of MTV was probably birth through '88 or so. Also, hair bands already had their own thread. Let's keep it that way.

You have been warned. Carry on.

Well, as per usual, it went down the *hitter. Nice effort trying to save it though....;)

worst song ever? please. If you'd have seen VH in concert in 1984 you'd disagree. just cause it's earlier doesn't mean it's better.

Agreed. Saw the very last three shows they ever did in the US with Roth. July 14th, 15th, and 16th at Reunion Arena. They just don't make shows like that anymore.

Did I mention that I drove to the concert in my black Z-28, which was only a month old at the time? :D

Concerts were all I did back then.

I had the same fifth row seats at the Myriad for both nights on that tour, I refunded my tickets for the second night as the first show was the worst VH show that I had ever seen. They needed to give it up at that point, the previous concerts that I had seen of theirs were so much better. With them splitting like they did (the OKC shows were right before the Reunion shows) it showed in their performance....and The Velcros was a horrible opening act.

1984 was a great album, especially after the disaster that Diver Down was. I was at Sound Warehouse in 83/84, so concerts are pretty much all we did as well, of course they were also only $12-15 each.

Metal Mania is on VH1-Classic at the moment.....

EXCELLENT show at the Bronco Bowl 1985
Went to a high school journalism conference on the KU campus when I was a senior. They had a show on campus the night that I was there, and we didn't know about it until after, or we would have snuck out and gone. The way I found out? My friend Shelly and I were riding the elevator at the Holidome where we were staying. The Alarm was staying there too, and they got on the elevator we were on. We about crapped.

Then, when we were walking around campus the next day, we saw all of the posters for the show the night before. We were ****ed.
