Dropped Lucy off at daycare this morning. They grow up so fast....sniff sniff. Brought her in to the large play area in the middle, and she had a LOT to say to the other kids in the smaller playpens that had been there overnite (we were the first of the morning). Of course they had a LOT to say back, the place really got noisy! Let her run around for about 10 minutes, then decided to put her in a smaller area to calm down a bit. Don't know about her, but I'm sure worn out already! I'm sure she'll do fine. I just don't want her to have any flashbacks of the pound and feel like I left her or something. I'm sure she'll get used to it soon though, and have a lot of fun with her friends from the dog park and all of the new ones she'll meet. I just hope I don't forget to pick her up on my way home!

she is FINE at the dog park with ALL of the other dogs. We also play with a neighbor dog 3-4 times a week. They said she was "aggressive" towards the other dogs in the play area, but I find that hard to believe. She must have been stressed with the whole situation or something. I was really disappointed :( I really thought she'd LOVE it.

She's probably fine at the Dog Park because you are there. You'd be surprised how they act when their master is gone. I would ask to watch her in this setting without her knowing you are there. It could be from her being stressed and separation anxiety, or it could be the first signs of a problem.

If she is aggressive, it's fixable, but you need to nip it as soon as it pops up. TRUST ME. It only gets worse...

I'm gonna ask if I can bring her in on a saturday or late one afternoon after work to see how she acts when I'm there, and to get her used to the environment. maybe after several trips of doing that she'd be ok.

That's a good idea. At least once, I would drop her off like you did the first time, leaving the same way, but coming back when they have play time to observe without her knowing you are there.

Getting her used to the situation is a good start. One of our dogs was hesitant about the place we board them, but now she likes it.

I'm gone to work all day and she is HYPER. Thought it would help run out some of her energy.
