I need your advice.

The wife, kid and I have decided to drive up and spend a couple days there. I've only driven through the city and am not familiar with Tulsa.

So what is there to do? Where to stay?

The wife wants a decent hotel - doesn't have to be top of the line, but nice. The kid wants an outdoor pool. Would prefer to stay an area of the city that is close to resturants and other things to do.

Also, what is the best lake to visit for a day that is relatively close?

TIA

Stay in the Camelot and go swimming in Keystone.

Both will be the BEST EVAR.

He kids he kids, camelot is coming down and keystone is 30 foot above normal! :D

Stay at Cherokee Casino if possible, rooms are just as cheap as a decent hotel but rooms are nice! Not extremely close to all the food shopping stuff, but outdoor pool is great and you have your food right there also. Grand lake or Skiatook lake are the only lakes you can get near because of all of the rain, but they are extremely busy right now on the weekends because they are the only ones not too flooded to get on.

I looked at that place on the web, and for the price, it almost looked too good to be true.

thanks.

so if I don't want to stay at the casino, is there a part of the city where there are several resturants, and hotels - but not right on the interstate?

the hotel on 71st and 169 is nice but it's in the middle of too much. I forget the name, I've done 2 art shows there.

this is right down town and has been refurbished inside, you need to call about the pool though, I stayed there in June and the pool was down:

tell them there's a new library named after you, maybe you'll get a discount.

Springhill Suites with a GOV discount, about $74 with tax. Lots of places to eat. It's on the southside.

The Doubletree at 61st & Yale is a good choice. Recently remodeled and is supposed to be nice. Close access to both south Tulsa and Brookside, Cherry Street, Utica Square, etc.
