We are flying home for the Nebraska USC game in September. Originally we were going to leave on the 12th, but we found that our tickets (4 of them) would be over $200 less if we left on the 11th. We went ahead and booked it not really thinking about the date. Personally, I'm not scared. I think the likely hood of another terrorist attack that happens the same way on the same day is very very slim. Also... who would want to hyjack a plane flying into Omaha, NE? I guess maybe they would want to hyjack one flying out of Seattle. :O

I am, however, 100% sure that the chances of my mil having a nervous breakdown when she finds out what day we are flying are very very great. :D

No offense, but your best point. Same could go for OKC, though.

I wouldn't be scared...hell, they jack-knifed my George W. Bush flask when I flew to Texas from Phoenix...luckily there wasn't any Weller in it or we might have had a scene at Sky Harbor Airport.

Has to be the safest day to fly at this point.

I have flown on 9/11 once since 2001. Can't say I was thrilled about it at the time, but it probably is about as safe a day.

I could see hijacking a plane to get away from Nebraska. :D

I thought for sure I would get both of these comments in the first reply.

I've flown on 9/11 before. It was actually pretty good. The flight wasn't crowded at all.

I'd prefer not to fly on any day, but that's just me.

I would have flown on THE 9/11 if I could have. My family needed to get to a funeral. :(

if we don't fly on 9/11 then the terrorists win. think about that the next time you're booking tickets.

That fact that you have make sure you've got clean socks on when you go to the airport now means the terrorist have already won.

I'd fly any day...

It's the ride to the airport that scares me.

I had surgery on Friday the 13th. You do what you have to do.

I flew on 9/11/2002, the 1 year anniversary. I couldn't think of a better act of defiance.
