You must be tough as old boot leather, or else I'm just a weenie. I had a similar operation and I was in the hospital for a while AND laid up at home for a few weeks.

This guy beats me... I got on the SO right after my anesthetic wore off and I could stay awake for more than three seconds. I was close... but the kidney stone thingy is much tougher cuts to heal. Mucho spekko to you, sir.

Oh, and I would imagine that time off depends on when they catch it, My father missed a couple weeks after his appendix ruptured
But I had a co-worker only miss a few days after his appendix was out, they caught it before the rupture occured...
