We aren't allowed to display it or mention it in recruiting(not sure why ayone one would mention it but whatever). I think they should place it in a vault inside the Switzer center. Put some smartass sign/label on the vault like "the unmentionable trophy" and keep it there.

Damn, I guess we'll have to fall back on that crystal football, the Rose Bowl trophy, and all those bowls of oranges. We're doomed.

I didn't think the NCAA had any jurisdiction over post season college football games. They don't award national championships in football. They recognize them.


I didn't think the NCAA even sanctioned the BCS. Maybe I misunderstood that.

Two questions:

1. Anyone else ****ed about us getting jobbed out of another win over Oregon? Damnit!!!!

2. Do you think we can give the trophy to Bomar so he can put it on display in his living room along with his MVP trophy?

I was just thinking that the Holiday Bowl trophy would be a great addition in my game room upstairs. I mean, the kids' have their swim medals and ribbons, along with a couple baseball trophies on the shelves in there, and the bowl trophy kinda goes with the color scheme and all...

Then, of course, there's the possibility that we may have grandkids eventually, and the trophy could make a handy tub for the babies. I could tell them great stories about "back in ought-five, when the Sooners didn't win a football game". They'd roll their eyes, and signal each other that Gramps was having another one of his "episodes".

Do you think they'll put it up for bid on e-Bay?

Couple of suggestions from OUInsider:

Change the plaque on it to reflect the correct score from last year's Oregon game and call it the "Whale of a Game" trophy.

Remove all plaques and display it as an "art piece" in the Switzer Center.

What is odd to me is that they didn't ask for any of the bowl money back. Goes to show what really is important in NCAA football.

The Holiday Bowl trophy has never been in the Switzer Center; because of how big and round it is. The trophy is also very expensive; $13,000+. All the bowl trophies are made in Midwest City, btw, if some of you do not know that. The trophy is made of iron, nickel, copper and other stuff. It sure would have been nice to have won the Fiesta Bowl because that trophy is worth over $1 million because of the jewels on it, marble base and whatever else.
