Than they made it out on television. Having worked off that refinery and having been in there numerous times the pictures are kinda spooky.
Here you are looking at the Gasifier and Anhydrous Ammonia plant portion of the refinery. B.O.C. gases cold box over to the left. (oxygen plant)

the plant I ran looks to have flooded as well. I have emailed a few and have yet to hear back.

look way off to the right and see our red and white stripe stack. Appears the old plant suffered in the flood too. We built that plant in building where the only thing sticking out was the towers so we could stay dry... go figure

Gas prices have spiked here because of that since it was a major source of refined fuels for Nebraska and Iowa. It went up around $.30 in three days.

People don't know what a big deal that is, it could easily get into Tulsa's drinking water.

DEQ: Water Supplies Show No Contamination From Oil Spill

Coffeyville, KS (AP) - Water samples taken from the Verdigris River and Lake Oologah show no signs of contamination from a 71-thousand-400 gallon crude oil spill.

The oil was spilled into the river during a flash flood in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality spokeswoman Skylar McElhaney says there are ten public water systems that take water from the Verdigris or Lake Oologah.

McElhaney says each of the ten systems collected samples of untreated water and sent it to DEQ for testing and no contamination was found.

She says the state will continue monitoring the water for several more days.
