Too bad. I hate to hear of things like this. Hopefully both Early and OU can move on to better things.

Team rule violation.

does anyone know why he was dismissed?By being a complete moron. Anyone who blows a full ride after they earn it is just plain stupid. Even if it was to Tulsa or Okie State but double stupid to lose a ride at OU.

Team rule violation.
Gee, thanks Nick.

Getting kicked off for a team rule violation would probably mean his second positive drug test...

Wow. That was quick.

That seems about right. When guys got kicked off our team in high school due to "violating team rules", it always had to do with drugs. Hopefully it's not the case for Chris though.

Maybe Chris Early could have used a little talk from the motivational speaker. :D

Dang. That sucks.

Maybe he shouldn't have reported to Norman "early." Oh snap. I had to.

Well...at least it happened before we got any glowing reviews of his playing style. :)

how do you get kicked off the team without actually being on the team yet?

must have been up to the devil's business.

If you have ever been around the summer AAU circuit you realize that these guys are "rock stars" from the time they are 8. I am not kidding; 8, maybe earlier.

It is a blast to watch but it may well be the worst thing to happen to "boys" basketball, ever. Not saying that is the reason Chris is gone but that "system" is bad news. The list of kids who cannot handle the responsibility of being a student/athlete (after being a rock star) is long. My belief is that they have had it too easy for too long. What they don't understand is the "sugardaddy" only lasts so long and you can't go back to it.

Good Luck Chris. We hardly knew ya.

I told you guys his YouTube videos weren't that impressive. I guess now his rap videos are getting harsh reviews too. :D

So when does the Jenni Carlson article come out about the OU basketball program going down in flames?

She wouldn't shed a tear if so.

We have a great basketball program.

Quote from some disgruntled fans:

"It took Kelvin at least 8 months to lose his players. Capel lost one in July 2007 and lost most of the 2006 recruiting class when the top players went to UAB, UT and VU in April 2006. At this rate, folks from the crowd will need to suit up."

every negative possible opinion on any Oklahoma hoops subject has been expressed moronically at one time or another on OUInsider.

in addition to whichever the latest JUCO PG being praised as the next Quannas White (if not Joe Dumars or Magic)....only subsequently to be trashed violently in December or January by "the faithful".

Blake G will have to score 25 a game to keep the gurus over there happy.

I heard they'll be happy with 24.

Was he already taking summer classes, and if so how does a situation like this affect a team's APR? Or is it no harm no foul since it was before school starts?

I thought the LOI was the part that binded a student-athlete to the school.

an LOI means that he gets financial aid, not that he gets to play basketball. they also have morality clauses in them, so...

OSUAggie

...but in regards to the graduation rate...?

I thought the LOI was the part that binded a student-athlete to the school. Binding LOIs are non-binding.

We learned that last year.

He got arrested for trespassing early Saturday morning.

http://www.ci.norman.ok.us/police/policePressReleases.cfm

Click on July 6th on the right and scroll to page 14 of the PDF file.

A call came in for an "ID check" at Kongo's Fitness and Sin City in Norman.

The subject was cited for trespassing and released.

That's at least part of the story. Who the hell knows the rest.
