POTEAU, Okla. (AP) -- Truck and van manufacturer Tiger Trucks plans to build a new plant in Poteau they expect will create 300 jobs. The Dallas-based company plans to make the official announcement on Monday.
State officials say Tiger chose the east-central Oklahoma town because it provided facilities and incentives. The town of about 8,200 offered a 112,000-square-foot building in its industrial park located on former Choctaw land that entitles the company to special tax credits.
Poteau Mayor Jeff Shockley says the plant will pay an average of $30,000 a year and have a $3 million payroll.
