Man Shoots Up Las Vegas Casino, Wounding 4 Before Police and Gamblers Tackle Him
LAS VEGAS — A man opened fire inside the New York-New York casino (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:siteSearch%28%27New%20York-New%20York%20casino%27%29;) early Friday, injuring four people before he was tackled by officers and patrons, police said.
Two women and two men were being treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries, said Officer Ramon Denby, spokesman for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:siteSearch%28%27Las%20Vegas%20Metropolitan%20 Police%20Department%27%29;).
The gunman is believed to be in his early 50s and a Las Vegas (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:siteSearch%28%27Las%20Vegas%27%29;) resident. Denby said the man fired several times on the casino floor.
"We are not exactly sure how many," Denby said. "Investigators are still collecting bullets."
